WHY CHOOSE 2G OUTFITTERS

We’ve been in business for over 9 years, If there’s one thing we know about, it’s providing unforgettable adventures for people all over the world

From an early age I had a growing passion for Newfoundland hunting and fishing.  I didn’t know how blessed I was because I didn’t know any different surroundings than my home - NEWFOUNDLAND.

This passion has now been turned into 2G Outfitters.  We at 2G Outfitters don’t feel we are exaggerating when we say our area is one of the best hunting and fishing areas in North America...MAYBE THE WORLD!

Getting here is worth the trip. We are the most eastern province in Canada, found fairly close to the north east United States and just a few hours flight across the Atlantic Ocean from London, England. Many folks drive to North Sydney, Nova Scotia and take the ferry operated by Marine Atlantic, to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. However, the more adventurous types may drive east through northern Quebec into Labrador. By land, by sea or by air – all three modes of travel can be used to get here. The travel information below will help you plan a trip to the far eastern edge of North America. GETTING HERE BY AIR:Newfoundland and Labrador is served by both scheduled airlines and charter services, and can be reached via national and international connections. Our province is home to two international airports – located in St. John's and Gander – as well as domestic airports in Deer Lake. These airports are destinations for many major airlines, including Air Canada, WestJet and United Airlines as well as the locally-owned and operated Provincial Airlines. Helicopter Charter Services are also available with Newfoundland Helicopters. Typically our clients fly into Deer Lake airport which is approximately 130 kms away from our location or Gander which is approximately 200 kms away from our location. GETTING HERE BY VEHICLE AND FERRY: Located at the most easterly edge of North America, Newfoundland and Labrador makes for a great road-trip destination. Most car travellers access the province by Marine Atlantic ferries, which operate between Nova Scotia and the island of Newfoundland. These superferries carry hundreds of vehicles and passengers to two entry points. There is a year-round, daily service between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port aux Basques, in southwestern Newfoundland. Once you cross the Atlantic you will be in Port aux Basques where you would follow the Trans Canada Highway until you reach our location in Springdale, NL (approximately 400 kms).
When traveling to Canada either by air or ground, there are a few basic things to remember. You will be required to clear through Canadian Customs regardless of whether you fly or drive. If flying, you will need to present identification in the form of a passport, or in some states an enhanced driver’s licence is acceptable. At customs you will be asked several questions about the purpose of your trip, the length of your stay, where you live, who you are hunting with etc. It is a very good idea to have some written verification (like a contract or a brochure from your outfitter, to show what your destination is. At this point, all alcohol, tobacco and firearms must be declared. This process usually goes quickly and you should soon be on your way. Remember thousands of travelers enter Canada each day and the process is relatively simple.
You are allowed to bring your personal firearms with you. This includes your rifles and/or shotguns . Archery equipment does not fall under these requirements and therefore has no declaration form. For your firearms, a simple one-page form (CAFC 909) is required to be filled out to obtain a temporary Canadian Firearms permit. Your Outfitter will likely provide this to you with your Hunt Contract if needed or you can download it from the “Forms” section at the NLOA.ca website. Completing this in advance should reduce your time clearing customs. A confirmed declaration costs a flat fee of $25, regardless of the number of firearms listed on it. It is only valid for the person who signs it and for those firearms listed on the declaration. If you come with others who will be using firearms in Canada, you will each need to meet these requirements.
The following are included in each package: 1. All license fees and sales tax with invoices and receipts. 2. Transportation to and from airport if needed. 3. Accommodations. 4. Linens (optional if sleeping bag is used) and pillows. 5. Full bathroom facilities with showers, hot and cold water. 6. All meals included while at the lodge and hunting sites. 7.
